Policy Notification 

We appreciate that you’ve chosen us for your massage. To provide the best service possible to our clients we have implemented the following policies.

Cancellation Policy

Please note: Thantawan Massage reserve the right to request none-refundable deposits for all appointments, this is due to customers booking an appointment then not keeping the appointment.  

We respectfully ask that you provide us with a 72-hour notice of any schedule changes or cancellation requests. Please understand that when you cancel or miss your appointment without providing 72 hours notice we are often unable to fill that appointment time. This is an inconvenience to your therapist and means our other clients miss the chance to receive services they need. For this reason, you will lose your deposit.

We understand that emergencies can arise, and illnesses do occur at inopportune times. If you have a fever, a known infection, or have experienced vomiting or diarrhoea within 24 hours prior to your appointment time, we request that you cancel your session. Inclement weather may also result in the need for late cancellations. We will do our best to give advanced notice if we are closing or need to cancel due to bad weather and we ask you to do the same. Please do not risk your own safety trying to make your appointment. Late cancellation due to emergency, illness, or inclement weather may result in loss of deposit, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Booking with gift vouchers and missing an appointment will result in the voucher being forfeited.

Late Arrival Policy  

We request that you arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time to allow time to fill out any required paperwork as well as answer any intake questions your therapist may have. We understand that issues can arise that may cause you to be late for your appointment. However, we ask that you call to inform us if this ever occurs so we can do our best to accommodate you. Appointment times are reserved for each client, we cannot exceed that reserved time without making the next client late. For this reason, arriving after your appointment time may result in loss of time from your massage so that your session ends at the scheduled time. Full-service fees will be charged even when sessions are shortened due to late arrival. In return we will do our best to be on time, and if we are unable to do so we will add time to your session to make up for our late arrival or adjust the service charge accordingly.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are available to purchase in store. Vouchers are available in values chosen by the customer, please note that the voucher value may not meet the value on the price list, in this case the recipient will be required to top the value up at the time of redemption. Gift vouchers have an expiration time of 3 months from date of purchase we reserve the right not to accept vouchers that have expired, the expiration date should be displayed on the gift voucher (vouchers over 3 months from date of purchase will not be honoured regardless) . Lost vouchers will not be honoured. When booking using a voucher, please let us know the voucher number.

Vouchers cannot be refunded. (You can sell the voucher to another person if required, please inform Thantawan in this case). Appointment's booked with a voucher and not attended will result in the voucher being cancelled, no exceptions.

Inappropriate Behaviour Policy  

Massage therapy is for relaxation and therapeutic purposes only. There is absolutely no sexual component to massage whatsoever. Any insinuation, joke, gesture, conversation, or request otherwise will result in immediate termination of your session and a refusal of any and all services in the future. You will be charged the full-service fee regardless of the length of your session. Depending on the behaviour exhibited we may also file a report with the local authorities if necessary. Treat your therapist with respect and dignity and you will be treated the same in return. If you are under the influence of drugs/alcohol at the time of your appointment we reserve the right to cancel your session and charge fees as cancellation policy.

Massage is close contact, for the comfort of our staff and other customers reserve the right to cancel you session if you are not clean and charge a fee as cancellation policy.

Massage Etiquette 

For the comfort of you, our staff and other customers please shower/wash prior to visiting the salon, please also remove any coloured make up, (make up stains bed linen), wear appropriate clothing (loose fitting clothing easy to remove and, underwear appropriate for massage eg: boxer/swim shorts for men, underwear/swim bikini for women) Underwear to be left on at all times.  Arrive 10 minutes early to fill a health declaration liability/waiver in, (you will be asked to fill in (first visit) or provide update a health declaration/liability waiver on following visits). For the comfort of our staff and other customers, please do not smoke immediately before your appointment. If the you do not observe the cleanliness advice above we reserve the right to decline your appointment, any deposit/voucher will be lost. Our staff will take payment PRIOR to your session, this is normal in the massage industry. Your therapist will ask what type of massage and how strong/hard you would like, please note, Thai Massage is notoriously deep tissue, if this is your first Thai Massage please select soft, you can always ask the therapist to increase to medium or even strong. 

  

 

COVID 19 & flu/colds

The rules regarding Covid 19 are changing constantly, please consult  www.gov.uk/coronavirus for up to date information. We leave wearing a face covering up to your personal choice. Our staff wear face coverings if it is their preference. 

​Colds&flu policy, if you have a cold/flue/covid and attend your appointment, our staff reserve the right to decline your appointment and any deposit or voucher will be lost.

 

Staff/visitor security/safety

For the security of our staff and visitors/customers CCTV is continuously recorded and monitored. 

Personal Attack buttons are linked to the salon security alarm which is monitored externally by security.

Health forms are stored securely off site and according to data protection act regulations.

Fire detection is in place for everyone’s safety. In the vent of alarm evacuate at the nearest exit.

Risk assessments have also been written and are reviewed regularly.

General Liability Release form (you will be asked to sign this liability waiver at your first visit, or if you have changes to your health, you must keep Thantawan Massage Widnes informed if this is the case)

I give my permission to receive massage therapy. I understand that therapeutic massage is not a substitute for traditional medical treatment or medications.  

I understand that the massage therapist does not diagnose illnesses or injuries, or prescribe medications. I have clearance from my physician to receive massage therapy. If you experience pain or discomfort during the session, inform the therapist immediately so that pressure/strokes can be adjusted to your individual level of comfort. I understand the risks associated with massage therapy include, but are not limited to:  

• Superficial bruising • Short-term muscle soreness • Exacerbation of undiscovered injury 

I understand that the therapist is not qualified to perform spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose or treat physical/mental illness. 

I confirm that I have notified the therapist of all known medical conditions and injuries. 

I therefore release the company and the individual massage therapist from all liability concerning these injuries that may occur during the massage session.  

I understand the importance of informing my massage therapist of all medical conditions and medications I am taking, and to let the massage therapist know about any changes to these. I understand that there may be additional risks based on my physical condition.  

I understand that it is my responsibility to inform my massage therapist of any discomfort I may feel during the massage session so he/she may adjust accordingly. I understand that I or the massage therapist may terminate the session at any time. I have been given a chance to ask questions about the massage therapy session and my questions have been answered. 

I Agree to release any liability to Thantawan Massage Widnes, its owners or employees (full time and or self-employed) responsibility for any injury, Claim, or Liability incurred to or by myself on the premises. 

Thantawan Massage is located at the end of the row of shops in Albert Road Widnes. Free parking is available in the adjacent streets along Albert Road and in Cross Street to the rear of the premises, alternative free parking is in Cross Street next to DW Fitness First. Parking is strictly at the customers risk.
